Amazon Turk

Amazon Turk is for the bottom feeders of the internet world.  After a week's work I have managed to make a whopping $10.71 through my writing efforts.  Amazon Turk comes from an actual event that took place in the late 18th century when a hustler tricked people into believing that he had created a robot that could play chess.  It turned out, of  course, that there was a little man inside of the Mechanical Turk that was pulling the levers.

This is a good symbol for the Turk, since so many of the jobs on there turn out to be scams, set up so that you will either not be paid or so that you will not be paid a living wage. It is crowd sourcing at it lowest level.

Mission Statement

The purpose of this blog is two fold.  First, on a personal level, to document my attempts to make "it" as a writer.

Second, to write about E-Prose--that is to look at aspects of the internet landscape and to analyze how language is used and misused.
